Did you know that e-book sales are projected to account for about a quarter of global book sales by 2018? This is because there has been a shift from a print to digital industry in some media and educational platforms. Consumer e-books are forecast to generate a revenue of 20 billion US dollars by 2018 according to statistics. This can be attributed to the significant increase of e-books sold in the United States from approximately 69 million copies in 2010 to 266 million copies in 2017. According to WrittenWord Media, 2018 is the year of indie authors for they will continue to produce affordable and high-quality e-books and price their books below the market of traditional publishers, who tend to focus on their go-to franchises. Nevertheless, both traditional and indie writers will have so much in store for all the bookworms out there.
Any EBook Converter Free does not just throw a bunch of features at you. It comes with some thoughtful and humanized design to make the whole working process smooth, e.g., you can choose not to convert the source file if it is in the same format as the target one; it can create a parent folder to store the converted ebooks; there is also a button to directly open the output folder; and there are more.

[…] I have followed Jane Friedman since she was the editor of Writer’s Digest. She then went to teaching in Cincinnati and also for Writer’s Digest University as well as lecturing  out at writing seminars, starting her own blog in the process. A few years ago she was called up to the Virginia Quarterly Review though somehow she still writes for her website and teaches at Writer’s Digest webinars and conferences. Recently, she has compiled a Self-Publishing toolbox, of sorts, with everything a person could possibly hope for in one nifty package. This is basically a book itself, though she… Read more »

If you’re lucky enough to live in a country where torrenting is allowed, you may still encounter some issues. Namely, your ISP may intentionally throttle your bandwidth when it detects heavy data usage. This can slow your connection down to a snail’s pace, making it extremely frustrating to download torrents – especially when all you want to do is watch your favorite movie.

A million thanks for the article and all the commenting. There is enough in here to keep me reading and researching for a month (when I have the time.) Right now I’m looking for information for a friend who’s nearly finished writing and illustrating her book, but is no more computer savvy than I am, and as I read all this, I realize I’m going to have to scramble up a steep learning curve to understand Kindle publishing and so much else.

BookBaby is quite an expensive service in this list, however, it offers amazing quality and lets you keep 100% of the sales. From writing, formatting, and designing to distributing and completing sales, everything will be handled by BookBaby for a price of $149/ebook. Their experts will work side by side to create your perfect ebook using advanced tools and then distribute it to different retailers including BookBaby itself.

Great post and great insight on how to get your ebooks published and where. This post gave me great ideas on a booklet I’m revising for my business. Thought I should publish as a .PDF on my website, but now I’m considering creating it for Kindle too. With the ever-changing audiences and readers demanding more for less, it really is important to be so progressive. I’m diversifying my offerings and this will be one avenue I definitely want to pursue.

Book release option. Do you want to publish now or have the book up for pre-order? Pre-orders are especially good for books in a series, as readers are often ready to order the next one as they finish the one before. You can set them up to a year in advance on iBooks and Kobo and 3 months on Amazon. On iBooks, you get sales rankings for the pre-order period and for the actual sales day, so it's well worth doing it there. For Amazon, you spread your sales over the pre-order period, so you'll need to weigh up what's best for your book. If you don't want to do a pre-order, just select “I am ready to release my book now.”
I’m currently wavering on exactly how to publish it – yes you can get Kindle apps on all devices but some people have different preferences (such as Stanza, or iBooks) and want to be able to read books there, there’s also the issue that some people have ereaders which are not Kindles (I used to be one of them, and I have many friends who own Sonys or Nooks), I guess it partially depends on what kind of book you’re publishing and the target audience 🙂

"I really love illegally downloading books, and am always looking for a new site to help me do so. Unfortunately, Freebookspot includes a lot of malware with the torrent results. When I loaded it in my Internet Explorer, my whole system crashed, and I had to take it into the computer shop, costing me way more than if I had just bought the books in the first place."
There are reports in the traditional press about the slowing down of ebook sales in the US, but this is skewed by data that only report on books with ISBNs. Many indies, myself included, don’t use ISBNs for ebooks. In fact, Author Earnings reports in October 2015 that 33% of all ebooks sold in the US don’t have ISBNs and none of those sales are counted in the traditional press reports. The Feb 2016 report demonstrated that the percentage market share of ebooks by indie authors only continues to grow in the US market.
Torrentz is another best ebook torrenting sites same as 1337X. Torrentz is another peer to peer file sharing protocol website based on BitTorrent commands. It is being used extensively for e-books around the world. Torrentz is free ebook share download torrent site. Although the interface of this website is not good and many advertisements are running on the website, however, this is a very fast site and for book lovers, this is an important journey.
I don't have a problem with that and think it's great that Apple offers iBooks Author for free. But the one thing that does bother me is Apple's failure to provide a free ISBN for your e-book. Instead, it tells you to get your own and provides a link to Bowker's Identifiers Services page. Bowker's charges $125 for a single ISBN or 10 for $250. The price drops to single digits when you buy thousands of ISBNs as other self-publishing outfits do. (You can buy a single ISBN for less than $125, but I'd prefer not get into all that). In short, it's patently absurd that Apple's making its authors pay $125 for ISBN number, and I think it's deterring a lot of people from publishing an iBook directly with Apple.
But it is Mac only. So, if you are on a PC, then you can use Scrivener for formatting, since many writers already have Scrivener as a writing tool. There are plenty of free tutorials online and I also recommend the Learn Scrivener Fast course which includes lots of mini videos on the functionality that will help speed up your writing and publishing process.
Many of you are not willing to pay for the e-books until and unless you decided to give your financial support to your favorite authors. Also, this is one of the reasons why people loving e-books than printed books- it is available for free. Yes, almost each and every e-book is available for free to download. All you need is some patience to checkouts multiple websites. There is a way that you can easily get your favorite e-books for free. Let us look at this technology in this article.

For books distributed by Smashwords to its retail network of the Apple iBookstore, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Diesel and Baker & Taylor's Blio, the author earns 60 percent of the list price, the retailer takes 30 percent and Smashwords earns 10 percent. The cuts work essentially the same for overseas sales, though in countries that impose VAT taxes, the VAT often comes out of the purchase price before the percentages are applied.

Torrent Download is one of the best torrent site to download ebooks from torrents site. It has a well-known website which enables sharing of the torrent file using the BitTorrent protocol or set of rules and commands. The torrent download was not famous when it came to force in the beginning, it is now. Initially, torrent downloads were used only to show popular movies and web series, but with the time and location route, it became very popular. it also started distributing games, documentaries and e-books. Now today, this torrent site can find many ebooks.
As for the library blocking one of our sites, well, libraries block for any number of reasons but most likely it was because we featured a bargain erotica book for the Kindle somewhere and a library scanner didn't like a suggestive word. Our sites don't discriminate against book postings by category--our philosophy is, if Amazon sells it, we'll promote it. I think that's fair.
