Most of the popular public torrent sites such as The Pirate Bay, Torrentz2, IsoHunt, etc. are having mixed content such as movies, music, software, games and eBooks. However, there are private torrent sites such as Bibliotik, MyAnonamouse.net, Ebook Shares, etc., which have mostly e-books. Someone asked in the comments here about books in the Peter Pan series and I thought that it would be a good idea to gather together the various locations for the books in a children's series.  Since I did not want to take up further web pages here at Gizmo's, I set up a site at Google Sites to provide the links for these books.  As of now, I have listed only one series, but if there is interest I will post up more.  Please let me know in the comments below (or at the Google site) if you are interested.

But I would add, there’s more to finding a target market than just “finding” it. Once you find it, you then have to figure out what angle you need to come from to make them interested in what you are writing and in some instances that can be tricky. You have to understand what is selling in the marketplace and then what about that HASN’T been tapped into yet.
"I don't trust torrent sites, but this is all legit. You are only download document files, so you don't have to worry about any nefarious viruses, or things like that. They have a ton of free books available, more than you could ever imagine. The library is really impressive, and the search features really help you hone in on a book you are looking for, or may be interested in reading. I suggest this for any book lover out there who has had trouble with torrent sites in the past. "

Create an arresting cover: When it comes to e-books, everything starts with the cover image. Creating an eye-catching, professional-looking cover that also looks good small (it has to stand out as a thumbnail image, since it's being sold online) is easier said than done, but it can really make a difference in terms of sales. Ideally, you should hire a graphic designer who has some experience creating book covers. From a production standpoint, an e-book cover is easier to create than a cover for a print book (you just need a JPEG with decent resolution), but it shouldn't look out of place among traditionally published e-books. I can't tell you how many bad self-published covers are out there.

Great post and love your blog. I have to agree that once you write your first ebook the challenge is then to get it known. Obviously Kindle is the best way but if your objective is to drive people to your website/blog or facebook page there are different strategies to follow. It’s great that so many people are feeling empowered to write without the need for the whole publishing machine that used to come with paper books.

I begin with one caveat: The whole e-book market is rapidly evolving, and a lot of self-publishing companies are offering e-book deals bundled into their print book publishing packages, which makes them harder to break out and evaluate. It's all quite complicated, and in an effort to sort through the confusion, I've decided to offer a few basic tips and present what I think are some of the best options out there for creating an e-book quickly and easily. As things change -- and they will -- I'll do my best to keep this column up to date.
Booktango's Web site advertises a "100 percent royalty," which is misleading considering you get that rate only from the e-books you sell on the Booktango Web site and Booktango charges a fee for each book you sell (30 percent of the list price -- the same as Amazon). For other outlets, Booktango takes 10 percent of your net profits, resulting in a "90 percent royalty," which is also misleading because the net profit in its sample royalty rates seems smaller than it should be. Honestly, Booktango's royalty rates don't look too good and can't match its competitors' rates.
Lulu offers four levels of e-book creation and distribution services, ranging from a free do-it-yourself version to the $219 Amplifier, which includes one paperback copy of your book and the option for print distribution to Amazon and BN.com. Lulu offers e-book distribution in the Lulu store, B&N’s Nook bookstore, and Apple’s iBookstore. It does not currently offer distribution to Amazon. Royalties are “90% of the revenue from sales of your e-book” less the commission from sales through B&N and Apple. If a document has images, tables, and footnotes the company recommends contacting Lulu customer support to find out about its “premium” package. E-books take from one to two weeks to be reviewed, approved, and uploaded to the author’s Lulu account for distribution, which makes the wait period a bit longer than other options. Any revision to the text after initial publication requires initiating a new “creation process.” If you haven’t opted for the free DIY service, you are required to purchase a new package in order to make your changes.

I recommend a multichannel approach — approach the marketing from several different angles. One definite channel is social media. Leverage your Facebook page, Twitter, LinkedIn contacts, and more to get the word out. When the book is published, post it on Facebook with a link back to your website with more information and a way to order, for example.
Wikibooks is one of the best book torrent sites out there. the site provides open content e-books that mean anybody can edit the contents of the book. you will find over 2695 books with 56719 pages. A very useful site for students who can find books related to computing, Languages, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Science and much more. You will also find cooking related E-books(cookbook) like how to cook chicken tikka etc.
Book name/Title. You need to enter the exact title as shown on the cover in this field. This is because people used to ‘stuff' keywords into the title field e.g. “Paranormal romance with a noir detective twist.” If it's not on the cover, you can't include it here! However, you can change your title if you want to rebrand the books in the future. It can be done, but it's not easy. Here's my own experience with changing titles and covers.
Smashwords, one of the e-book pioneers and largest distributors of self-published e-books, with more than 125,000 titles from over 40,000 authors, is very much a DIY operation. You bring your Word file and cover image, upload it into the company's "Meatgrinder" tool, and in a matter of minutes, you create your e-book in just about every format you'd want. You can then sell that e-book on Smashwords.com or have the company distribute it to most of the major e-book sellers, including Barnes & Noble's eBookstore, Apple's iBooks, Sony, Kobo, and Baker & Taylor's Blio and others. Smashwords also has deals in place for having its authors' e-books distributed to libraries.

I don't have a problem with that and think it's great that Apple offers iBooks Author for free. But the one thing that does bother me is Apple's failure to provide a free ISBN for your e-book. Instead, it tells you to get your own and provides a link to Bowker's Identifiers Services page. Bowker's charges $125 for a single ISBN or 10 for $250. The price drops to single digits when you buy thousands of ISBNs as other self-publishing outfits do. (You can buy a single ISBN for less than $125, but I'd prefer not get into all that). In short, it's patently absurd that Apple's making its authors pay $125 for ISBN number, and I think it's deterring a lot of people from publishing an iBook directly with Apple.

1. I don’t know how much it would exactly cost. I paid roughly $100 to the company that I mentioned, 52novels, and they formatted the eBook for me in both Amazon format and ePub. With that, you can publish very easily. You fill in all the data about your book, the keywords, title, etc., and then you simply upload the file you were given. Then you set the pricing. Then you’re finished. Maybe try the website smashwords; I’m not too familiar with them but I know they have a service that helps you upload your eBook to various places.

Great post, Carol. I am sooo looking forward to the webinar on Wednesday. I am working on a series of ebooks; but with the intention of combining them into one big book (with each booklet representing a chapter) once they are all complete. Maybe I should keep them all separate? Also, I haven’t used Kindle format because I have a few pages in some that need printed. My understanding is you can’t print from a Kindle. Guess that’s another question for Wed.?

Thank you, Jane, for such a prompt reply. And, well, if that’s true about Rogue (as it seems it might be), then, with the kind of work I’ve written, that puts me back to Square One. My reasoning was taken from an article by a Writer’s Digest article I saw from June of this year by Brian Klems entitled “How Can the Average Writer Make Money Self-publishing Ebooks.” The link is: http://www.writersdigest.com/online-editor/how-can-the-average-writer-make-money-self-publishing-e-books He said this re: Rogue Reader/MTM: “• Rogue Pricing. iBooks Author allows authors to create and publish their own e-books for sale in Apple’s iBookstore. The process is a bit more involved compared to other e-book services, but it’s a great option for design-savvy authors with multimedia-heavy books like children’s books or cookbooks. Authors can choose from several templates, including classic textbook, cookbook, or photo book and have the ability to add charts, tables, audio, and video to their books using widgets or “drag and drop.” To begin, authors must fill out a Paid Books Account application, which is reviewed in approximately two business days. Once authors receive a confirmation email, they must download a “delivery application” in order to deliver the book. Authors must have an Apple ID along with a valid credit card on file to sell books. iBooks Author does not offer a conversion service, but Apple does offer a list of approved “aggregators” who will format and deliver your book to the iBookstore for a fee -- these include Bookwire, Ingram, INscribe, Smashwords, and BookBaby. Royalties are 70% of list price with no fees. ISBNs are not provided.
Good to hear, Patrice. Definitely weigh your options and see what is best for you. It’ll sound strange for me to say to not listen to anyone when picking a price or enrolling in KDP because what I really want people to do is experiment and learn on their own. It’s not like you’re only going to be writing one eBook for the rest of your life, so I find it important to test, experiment, and measure your results and play to your strengths.
I know what you must be thinking. Kickasstorrent original portal was taken down, but this came up as its alternative and trust me this is nothing less than its original version. Katcr.co is a public torrent website and does not require any sign-up. The eBook torrent collection is huge, but unfortunately, they are no ways to filter out per different category of books.
It’s only a PDF. I did not have the vaguest idea how to digitally publish an ebook. Rather than try to figure it out, I wanted to just do a PDF. I knew how to get a designer to make me a PDF, so I did that. The world of digital publishing for the Kindle and Nook and all the other ways completely confused me. So I ignored it. The problem is, the Kindle format is just exploding. I kept getting inquiries from writers about whether I had a Kindle version — and I had to tell them no, I didn’t. Who knows how many sales I lost.

It takes time to build your audience at other stores, and having multiple books in a series is the best way to gain reader loyalty and sales for the long term. Each store has comparative strengths and weaknesses in the different worldwide markets, so building for the future means going wide. You can also listen to/read this interview with experienced indie author, Liliana Hart all about going wide with distribution.
As far as I know, even outfits like Rogue Reader have a submissions/acceptance process; you can’t offer a profit share and expect to be assisted for free without them reviewing the work and deciding it’s something they want to invest time into. (However, if you can provide a link to a page that explains otherwise, I’d definitely like to see it.) If you don’t want to pay anything for editing, your best bet is to get involved in online writing communities where writers serve as each others beta readers. Wattpad, Authonomy, and BookCountry are some of the most active and… Read more »
VPNs encrypt your connection and reroute it through their servers, making it virtually untraceable and keeping you safe. It will be very hard, if not impossible, for anyone to keep track of what and when you download – and this extends to all of your other online activity, too. Just make sure your VPN has top-shelf encryption and a proven no-logging policy.
