Nothing beats the paperback experience of books. Though, in a digital world such as this, the EBooks has certainly grown in popularity. EBooks are a great way to get your hands on reading materials that are otherwise unavailable in a particular region or are downright too costly to afford. These top 10 torrent sites contain a huge stock of EBooks to explore for the avid readers out there.

I wish to make this VERY clear ... we have NEVER nor will we EVER partake in the practice of SPAM. I personally spend nearly two hours (and that number is rising as our sites become more popular) eradicating SPAM comments and form responses each and every morning. It is not a fun endeavor, I assure you, and not one we would ever subject any other webmaster to. I own the ONLY hotzippy email address, so no emails could ever have come from our network that would have constituted itself as SPAM. In fact, the only unsolicited email I have ever sent from that account is to the above poster.
As for Sean Platt’s comment: look back ten/twenty years and tell me how many digital documents you can still read from that time. Now tell me how many paper documents you can still read from then. Paper will not go away in our lifetime – it’s still the only durable medium we have – digital formats change and the equipment we use to access digital changes so rapidly that we have to upgrade every three or four years or get left out of the loop. (Do you still have a Palm device, for example? Fewer than ten years and they, and everything on them, essentially became obsolete.)
Disadvantage: Some readers prefer to hold a book in their hands and will pay more for the right to own the object and not just the story. These tactile types might not spend money on what seems like "nothing" to them. In addition, "quick access" is quick only if you know how to do it. Some book buyers may have trouble figuring out the process or may not have the correct software to accommodate your book format.
It's also worth noting that you can mix and match and go direct with Amazon (KDP), uploading your own file and managing your account, and then use an aggregator such as Smashwords for additional distribution to other e-book stores. At this point there are no hard and set rules and, as I said in the beginning, the e-book market is very fluid, seeing significant changes almost every month. As always, please feel free to post your opinion in the comments section, particularly if you've had experience publishing your e-book already and can share your observations with others. And remember, Google is your best friend for the finer parts of self-publishing, such as converting a Word file to a PDF.
Online ebook converters are now favored by some readers, but why not truly own a much more powerful converter and reader app that doesn't use network? Online converters always have limitations of this and that and if you want to convert ebooks that you don't want others to be aware of the content, uploading them to online converters' servers is like the worst idea ever because they store your files!
Pricing: Some services have limits on how to price your book. For instance, Amazon doesn’t allow authors to offer their books for free, and both Amazon and Kobo offer different royalties in different price ranges. This may not be a bad thing (after all, they know the pricing “sweet spots”), but you want to avoid getting stuck in a situation where you don’t like the price and can do nothing about it. Finding the right price for your ebook is not easy; choose a platform where you can experiment before committing.

It is free to self-publish on the most popular ebook platforms. Obviously, you have to pay upfront for editing and cover design but the actual publishing is free and the stores take a small percentage of sales. Compared to most other business models, publishing in this digital age has low overheads, low entry costs and potentially a high margin of return.
If you’re asking if you should learn how to make ePub and Mobi files on your own, I’d say you don’t want to — hire a pro if you want to control those files and be able to sell all formats on your own site, as you can see me doing here: http://www.makealivingwriting.com/ebooks. Also hire someone if you want great design — it does make a difference in sales, in my experience.
This design-oriented digital and print publisher distributes across all the major e-book retailers as well as the Vook bookstore. Vook provides free ISBNS although its publishing packages are among the most expensive in the marketplace. Authors can publish their e-books starting at $299 with add-on services like marketing consultations or copyediting available. The basic package includes conversion from most file formats to an e-pub file, two free previews and rounds of revisions, daily sales tracking, an optional (very basic) free cover design, and the ability to include up to 10 images and three audio/visual clips in the text. Additional changes after publication will incur a fee determined by the production coordinator. Authors can track the sales of just one book for free and additional books for a $9.99 monthly fee. Authors can run price promotions and have the ability to offer the book for free. Vook takes 15% of revenue from titles sold in its storefront.

"I was looking for a site to download eBook torrents and I was recommended to use KickAss Torrents. This site has a very easy to use interface and allowed me to search a wide array of torrents for the exact eBooks (and others!) that I was looking for. I was able to easily download the torrents and then utilize them in my eReader at home, which is exactly what I was looking to do. KickAss Torrents supplied me with what I was looking for and I am very happy with the results. "
"I don't trust torrent sites, but this is all legit. You are only download document files, so you don't have to worry about any nefarious viruses, or things like that. They have a ton of free books available, more than you could ever imagine. The library is really impressive, and the search features really help you hone in on a book you are looking for, or may be interested in reading. I suggest this for any book lover out there who has had trouble with torrent sites in the past. "
Great post, Carol. I am sooo looking forward to the webinar on Wednesday. I am working on a series of ebooks; but with the intention of combining them into one big book (with each booklet representing a chapter) once they are all complete. Maybe I should keep them all separate? Also, I haven’t used Kindle format because I have a few pages in some that need printed. My understanding is you can’t print from a Kindle. Guess that’s another question for Wed.?
Mollie, I hope you discovered how to format your own ebooks from Word to Kindle and Nook, too. This can be done using a couple of free software programs so that your Kindle ebook looks exactly like it did in Word – I wrote a guide about this that is for sale on Amazon right now – but you can discover how to do this by searching YouTube, as well – there are some tutorial there that explain the process!
"Planet eBook is great if you are looking for free eBooks that are in the genre of classic literature. Books like "The Great Gatsby" and "A Tale of Two Cities". This website makes it easy to find and download these titles. There are 80+ titles available which is decent but nowhere near what Amazon has to offer in this category. I personally have found it easier to just use Amazon with my Kindle for free classic literature titles."

Did you know that e-book sales are projected to account for about a quarter of global book sales by 2018? This is because there has been a shift from a print to digital industry in some media and educational platforms. Consumer e-books are forecast to generate a revenue of 20 billion US dollars by 2018 according to statistics. This can be attributed to the significant increase of e-books sold in the United States from approximately 69 million copies in 2010 to 266 million copies in 2017. According to WrittenWord Media, 2018 is the year of indie authors for they will continue to produce affordable and high-quality e-books and price their books below the market of traditional publishers, who tend to focus on their go-to franchises. Nevertheless, both traditional and indie writers will have so much in store for all the bookworms out there.
As of April 19, 2013, all pages have been updated and all links have been checked with LinkChecker and are working. I will be unavailable for most of the time during the next month and usually will not be able to respond to posts. However, I will be back after that, so any new sites or corrections to the listings that you post would be appreciated even though I may not be able to respond when you post. Steve

Hi Paul, Thanks for this guide. Do all these steps 9esp uploading, payment etc) also work internationally, do you know? The reason I ask is because Kindle doesn’t work in Pakistan (where I am) and I can’t access the browser/web kindle app either. Thanks for your thoughtful and detailed post. Writing my first-for-Kindle ebook and hoping to work out the kinks soon!
According to the official Epubsoft EBook Converter website, you can easily convert more than 50 eBooks at an instance. Also, this software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and later versions. With all these features, you may be wondering whether Epubsoft EBook Converter is free: this software is available at a price of $39.99 but can download a free trial here.
The Pirate Bay is the probably only torrent site which is around for a while. It is one of the best portals for torrent seekers in multiple categories such as movies, videos, application, games, eBooks, etc. Within a few minutes of surfing, you will get to know that it has a massive collection of eBook torrents from multi disciple such as foods, homebuilding, fiction, automobiles and several others.
"I have the Kindle app on my phone for when I am on the train during my morning commute but sometimes I just can't afford a new book :((((((((((((.......I decided to try torrents to see what kind of titles are out there for free.......After finding many torrent sites that are offline now or almost useless because of ads and malicious software, I stumbled upon Torrent Off. I was cautious at first, but after downloading several titles, or which there are more than 700,000 listed on the site, I was pleasantly surprised :) and continue to download from this site. It has worked like a charm with no viruses and no pop up ads like so many other torrent sites out there."

Maybe I am the only one who cares but I sure would like to see a category for "Philosophy Books" The are NOT "Religion and Spirituality" books. That may be too technical a division for many of the website owners you list but it would sure help. There is a vast difference between the topic of revealed faith and belief compared to reason. If fact St Thomas Aquinas carefully worked out the difference at the start of his Summa Theologiae 800 years ago based on sound, deductive reasoning.
I use BookBaby for my own eBooks and those that I don’t care to have in the Kindle Direct Library. Though I love the library, fiction are the most lended genre and if I’m expecting my eBook to sell more than 50 copies, listing with BookBaby is worth it due to the massive amount of distribution they offer. They currently charge $99 per title and $19 per year to keep it in distribution. I’ve also had several clients choose to go with their distribution service and they’ve been very pleased with the increase in sales.

The good news is that you don’t have to choose between working directly with online retailers and using ebook distributors, since it’s rare for any distributor to demand exclusivity. For example, you could choose to work directly with Amazon KDP to sell your ebooks on Amazon, then use an ebook distributor such as Draft2Digital or Smashwords to reach other retailers. Or you could choose to distribute directly to Amazon, Apple, Kobo, and Nook (by using their do-it-yourself portals), then use Smashwords to capture the rest of the market (such as Scribd and libraries).
But it is Mac only. So, if you are on a PC, then you can use Scrivener for formatting, since many writers already have Scrivener as a writing tool. There are plenty of free tutorials online and I also recommend the Learn Scrivener Fast course which includes lots of mini videos on the functionality that will help speed up your writing and publishing process.
