If you’re lucky enough to live in a country where torrenting is allowed, you may still encounter some issues. Namely, your ISP may intentionally throttle your bandwidth when it detects heavy data usage. This can slow your connection down to a snail’s pace, making it extremely frustrating to download torrents – especially when all you want to do is watch your favorite movie.
Working with ebook distribution services usually means giving up a percentage of your profits to the distributor, in exchange for the centralized administration and management of all your titles. Some ebook distributors can also reach outlets you can’t on your own, such as the library market, and may offer you helpful tools to optimize book sales and marketing.
Though, there are many sites which are serving free e-book torrents and paid ebooks. But, several of these sites are getting banned due to copyright violations. You can unblock ebook torrent sites using any of the proxy or a VPN. After Kickass went down, ExtraTorrent soon followed suit. However, the much popular torrent site had a huge fan-base who’ve successfully replicated the ET forerunner. Much like the first two sites, ExtraTorrent too has a great e-book collection, but mostly fiction. Aside from e-books, these kind of torrent sites also give users access to other type of media such a movies and TV shows. ET’s community is one of the most effective across the globe so be sure to check out e-book related discussions. Note that domain of ExtraTorrent gets changed regularly. You can check ExtraTorrent Proxy sites in this article.
I’m currently wavering on exactly how to publish it – yes you can get Kindle apps on all devices but some people have different preferences (such as Stanza, or iBooks) and want to be able to read books there, there’s also the issue that some people have ereaders which are not Kindles (I used to be one of them, and I have many friends who own Sonys or Nooks), I guess it partially depends on what kind of book you’re publishing and the target audience 🙂

Hi – thanks for this post. I knew about having to have the right format for an ebook to be on Kindle and Amazon. Those distribution centers are a bit way off for me right now. But – what I want to do is to offer a short ebook in a PDF on my blog/Facebook page etc – to encourage people to sign up for my blog and to like me on Facebook. How professional does a free ebook have to be? Can I just hire an editor to help me with the layout for that?
Great post, Carol. I am sooo looking forward to the webinar on Wednesday. I am working on a series of ebooks; but with the intention of combining them into one big book (with each booklet representing a chapter) once they are all complete. Maybe I should keep them all separate? Also, I haven’t used Kindle format because I have a few pages in some that need printed. My understanding is you can’t print from a Kindle. Guess that’s another question for Wed.?
If you're going to self-publish ebooks or you are already selling them, then I do recommend that you buy an ebook reader or at least try reading an ebook on one of the many free apps. You need to understand the mindset of an ebook reader as well as their online experience. I read 99% ebooks these days, mostly on the Kindle Paperwhite and my iPhone Kindle app. I mostly download samples before buying, unless I know and trust the author. I also have preferences around pricing, and you will pick these things up if you try reading digitally.
Someone asked in the comments here about books in the Peter Pan series and I thought that it would be a good idea to gather together the various locations for the books in a children's series.  Since I did not want to take up further web pages here at Gizmo's, I set up a site at Google Sites to provide the links for these books.  As of now, I have listed only one series, but if there is interest I will post up more.  Please let me know in the comments below (or at the Google site) if you are interested.
The Pirate Bay was one of the most popular torrent site but now there are so many proxies available. The Pirate Bay has been banned some countries and people can’t access it. If you love to read Ebooks then Now You can check The Pirate Bay Proxies.

This is probably the most comprehensive Kindle article I’ve ever read. As someone who’s been in publishing for many years and seen eBooks grow from internet marketers to the general public, and therefore being abused by authors who don’t know any better, I thank you for posting the importance of audience, a decent cover, and especially proper formatting.
