Another online eBook converter commonly used is Zamzar; a site which requires no download or user registration. Zamzar supports wide range of eBook formats and can be easily utilized for converting eBooks. Converted eBook files are sent to the specified email address and are accessible for the user to download them. The process of conversion is illustrated in the image above on the Zamzar website.
For books distributed by Smashwords to its retail network of the Apple iBookstore, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Diesel and Baker & Taylor's Blio, the author earns 60 percent of the list price, the retailer takes 30 percent and Smashwords earns 10 percent. The cuts work essentially the same for overseas sales, though in countries that impose VAT taxes, the VAT often comes out of the purchase price before the percentages are applied.

Apple iBookstore. The Apple iBookstore lists over 700,000 titles. It supports all formats. To publish in the iBookstore, access the requirements and application. The royalty rate is 70 percent. Apple does not pay publishers until they meet payment requirements and earning thresholds, which vary by territory. Small publishers may get paid faster using an ebook aggregator.
"Extratorrent.cc is a good site for downloading ebooks, as well as music, movies, etc. On the very first page it will list for you all most popular downloads. Then if you look under the category Books there are thousands and thousands of torrents, something for everyone no matter your interest. Just be sure to use a VPN to protect your privacy and security."
Not enough specifics. I’ve learned that writers need to be told very specifically, exactly how you do something. For instance, one I got recently: “If I’m contacting a charity about doing a pro bono sample, what exactly should I say to not seem desperate?” You can bet the next version of this material will have a lot more granular detail and answers to these nitty-gritty questions.

That’s why we decided to help you out by writing this article. It is all about the Best EBook Torrenting Sites from which you can download your favorite e-book for free. As far as I know, even outfits like Rogue Reader have a submissions/acceptance process; you can’t offer a profit share and expect to be assisted for free without them reviewing the work and deciding it’s something they want to invest time into. (However, if you can provide a link to a page that explains otherwise, I’d definitely like to see it.) If you don’t want to pay anything for editing, your best bet is to get involved in online writing communities where writers serve as each others beta readers. Wattpad, Authonomy, and BookCountry are some of the most active and… Read more »
2. Designer’s cost varies depending on what you want. You don’t have to pay an extravagant price. Also note, the cover doesn’t have to be extravagant. It has to be clear. Simple. Attractive. Sends the right message about what your book is going to be about. I would recommend a dear friend of mine who is both fair in pricing and excellent in her work. Her website is http://doublestopdesign.com/

Gary,I agree. I actually got my husband to get really really good at this and now he is doing the formatting and publishing for others, and of course he is doing all of my books. It helps to do a professional publish because as you say,it is very important to make the right impression with our books. I am so happy that Amazon brought us the Kindle store. It is an amazing platform!
Paul, I have begun writing my first e-book. I have so many ideas for other books, but I know getting started and publishing the first is the most difficult. I have to admit that I am a little overwhelmed, lacking in confidence and intimidated by the formatting process, uploading the book, etc, etc. Formatting the TOC alone made my head spin! Also, trying to figure out how to promote it, which way is best with Amazon…my gosh, it is a daunting endeavor…but I know worth it!
ChildrensBooksForever has a nice collection of books in pdf.  Additional comments from Cathy of  PuzzlEd  "I checked out ChildrensBooksForever and the books are just delightful! Gorgeous pictures and some good themes for primary-school kids (anger, bullying etc). Over 20 books available to download and use on computer, Smartboards etc, as well as viewing online (and in quite a variety of languages, too, apparently). Excellent for school or home use."
An authorpreneur is an author – traditionally or self-published – who adapts the savvy ways of an entrepreneur in order to build a business and grow multiple revenue streams around their book. In this guest post, Dave has asked me to share with you guys how I’ve managed to build a business around my debut novel Umbilicus, which I self-published in 2016.
Great post. I think for eBook authors outside of the US, though, Amazon is just a pain. Firstly, they take months to pay. Secondly, they actually send a physical paper check all the way across the ocean (I live in Australia) instead of just paying by PayPal. It’s very 1970s, and irritating. So if you get a payment of $20, you have to pay a currency conversion fee of $10 at the bank here, so you only get half your money.
Mollie, I hope you discovered how to format your own ebooks from Word to Kindle and Nook, too. This can be done using a couple of free software programs so that your Kindle ebook looks exactly like it did in Word – I wrote a guide about this that is for sale on Amazon right now – but you can discover how to do this by searching YouTube, as well – there are some tutorial there that explain the process!
Piracy will happen if your book is popular. There’s really no way of stopping it, but what do you think the most pirated books are? Harry Potter and other big sellers, of course, and does that impact their sales? Most people who pirate books are not going to be your readers anyway. It’s more important to consider obscurity, then piracy. More authors suffer from being completely unknown than from being famous enough to be significantly pirated.
Here are the three big questions to bear in mind with e-book creation: first, what is the easiest and most cost-efficient way to produce an e-book? Second, where will it be distributed? And third, how much of a cut do you get? With those in mind, let's take a look at some of the more high-profile options available currently. I'm limiting it to these options because I want to keep this as simple as possible.

Marketing is all about creating awareness for your e-book: I don't have any secret marketing tips to offer, but what I can say is that you can't sell a book if no one knows it exists. Most of book marketing is simply about creating awareness and you need to do that however you can, whether it's through social media or blogging or passing out fliers on a street corner. (I made a business card for my book, which I pass out if someone seems interested in hearing more about it.)

Kickass manages to remain on the radars by changing their domain names constantly, and although the owner of the website was arrested a few months ago, the website is still up and operational. Some say it is a proxy server, some say it is the reincarnation of the original, but the stock of EBooks on this website is plenty, so who cares? Kickass boasts a vast library of EBooks, your one-stop solution for reading.
Pricing: Some services have limits on how to price your book. For instance, Amazon doesn’t allow authors to offer their books for free, and both Amazon and Kobo offer different royalties in different price ranges. This may not be a bad thing (after all, they know the pricing “sweet spots”), but you want to avoid getting stuck in a situation where you don’t like the price and can do nothing about it. Finding the right price for your ebook is not easy; choose a platform where you can experiment before committing.

Self-published authors have had big success in recent years. Take Hugh Howey, who sold a series of science fiction books through Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing. At one point, he was selling 20,000 — 30,000 copies a month, which generated $150,000 in income monthly. Amanda Hocking, who writes “paranormal romance” and fantasy novels, has sold well more than a million books on Amazon, generating over $2 million in sales. That's proof that you can make money self-publishing on Amazon.

It is important to know the supported file types by your device. An iPhone and an Android device might not support the same format, while Kindle might have a completely different file format for supported eBooks. So, as a device owner and eBook reader, you got to pick what best suits your device specifications. Kindle supports – Word,  MOBI, HTML, RTF, ePub, Adobe PDF, TXT, and Kindle Package Format. iOS devices support – ePub, PDF. Android devices can work with ePub, RTF, MOBI, PRC, Word, PDF, HTML, TXT and lot more. After knowing the right eBook format for your device, you can choose the best torrent for books.
But it is Mac only. So, if you are on a PC, then you can use Scrivener for formatting, since many writers already have Scrivener as a writing tool. There are plenty of free tutorials online and I also recommend the Learn Scrivener Fast course which includes lots of mini videos on the functionality that will help speed up your writing and publishing process.
There are some key differences between this self-publishing (which, by the way, doesn’t have the negative connotations it used to) and traditional publishing process. You won’t be dealing with printed books, for one. That eliminates the expense and hassle of actually creating books, storing them, and delivering them — and that may not even sell. It’s going to be all digital. These are ebooks, which can be read on devices like Amazon’s Kindle, on another tablet or smartphone, or even on a computer.

If you have a lot of images in your book or a lot of complicated tables, then you will have more problems in formatting. You will also have a bigger file size, and although ebooks are typically free in terms of delivery, Amazon does include a delivery cost in their pricing setup. That will be higher if you have a bigger file, and images can really expand the file size. If your delivery cost goes too high, you’re not going to make much royalty. So, it’s really important to consider the size of your file.
hello there i am a such a newbie in the blogsphere…..I am planning to open a new blog and its domain is christologic.com and i wouldn’t mind to have your feedback on it since my blog would be writing about personal experiences, opinions, and travel. But i am planning to open another blog where i can publish short stories and poem, can you give me an advice on this?
When converting MOBI files, it is not to simply convert all the MOBI content to PDF images, but to adjust all the elements to the corresponding structure of PDF, therefore, the converted file will have better displaying effect and supports real-time editing and modification. After the MOBI format is converted to PDF, you can transfer the ebook to other device to read easily.

I wish to make this VERY clear ... we have NEVER nor will we EVER partake in the practice of SPAM. I personally spend nearly two hours (and that number is rising as our sites become more popular) eradicating SPAM comments and form responses each and every morning. It is not a fun endeavor, I assure you, and not one we would ever subject any other webmaster to. I own the ONLY hotzippy email address, so no emails could ever have come from our network that would have constituted itself as SPAM. In fact, the only unsolicited email I have ever sent from that account is to the above poster.
