Smashwords, one of the e-book pioneers and largest distributors of self-published e-books, with more than 125,000 titles from over 40,000 authors, is very much a DIY operation. You bring your Word file and cover image, upload it into the company's "Meatgrinder" tool, and in a matter of minutes, you create your e-book in just about every format you'd want. You can then sell that e-book on Smashwords.com or have the company distribute it to most of the major e-book sellers, including Barnes & Noble's eBookstore, Apple's iBooks, Sony, Kobo, and Baker & Taylor's Blio and others. Smashwords also has deals in place for having its authors' e-books distributed to libraries.
To the best of my knowledge all of the websites listed here offer only content that they are legally entitled to transfer to you and safe for downloads. If you find a site listed here that you know illegally offers copyrighted material or if you ever encounter malware on any of these sites, please report below with a link to the infringing content.
From flicks to fitness to food delivery, literally everything is now digital. Then how could the good old books be left behind? Though every book-lover would agree that nothing comes close to print books, e-books are actually quite convenient. The biggest drawback of print books is that they take up a lot of space. Also, in most cases, they’re more expensive compared to their digital counterparts and could prove to be bulky, especially while traveling. If you’re an ardent reader, you’ll be able to relate with this.
There are also the inevitable typos. No matter how many editors you use, somebody will always find a problem. Of course, this happens with traditionally published books too. It may be within a month or two, it may be a year later, but you know you’re going to want to fix it! If you have control, you can fix it yourself and upload a new file. If you outsource this task, you will need to pay for these updates and it won’t be as fast.

Lulu offers four levels of e-book creation and distribution services, ranging from a free do-it-yourself version to the $219 Amplifier, which includes one paperback copy of your book and the option for print distribution to Amazon and BN.com. Lulu offers e-book distribution in the Lulu store, B&N’s Nook bookstore, and Apple’s iBookstore. It does not currently offer distribution to Amazon. Royalties are “90% of the revenue from sales of your e-book” less the commission from sales through B&N and Apple. If a document has images, tables, and footnotes the company recommends contacting Lulu customer support to find out about its “premium” package. E-books take from one to two weeks to be reviewed, approved, and uploaded to the author’s Lulu account for distribution, which makes the wait period a bit longer than other options. Any revision to the text after initial publication requires initiating a new “creation process.” If you haven’t opted for the free DIY service, you are required to purchase a new package in order to make your changes.
And as for the problem, I’m a fourteen year old (aspiring) author and I’m looking to self-publish my novel through KDP. But I really feel like it’s a sort of cop-out– just slapping it up on the internet and advertising. Like giving up without trying. I really want to share my work with others, but I don’t want just a few people to see it, I want it to be more than that. I’m not saying I will be disappointed with anything less than J.K. Rowling-worthy sales, but it would be comforting to know that it isn’t just uselessly floating around on the internet. Does any of that make sense? Furthermore, my current plan is to be a novelist for a living, and I feel like I might as well get myself out there sooner than later, right? Get started while my parents will still support me, build up my own little army of people wanting another book, and be set for a while?
"I don't trust torrent sites, but this is all legit. You are only download document files, so you don't have to worry about any nefarious viruses, or things like that. They have a ton of free books available, more than you could ever imagine. The library is really impressive, and the search features really help you hone in on a book you are looking for, or may be interested in reading. I suggest this for any book lover out there who has had trouble with torrent sites in the past. "
So, to check this problem, you need to opt for an VPN. It hides your IP from the regulating authorities as well as the copyright owners of that eBook and helps you safely download the eBook. It can also unblock blocked websites in your region. As your IP is masked, there is no trace of your location, so every location restriction gets lifted in this case.

When iBooks Author launched, some people were upset by the fact that your project can only live in Apple's e-book ecosystem and nowhere else. So it goes. At the moment, the iPad is far and away the best-selling tablet and represents arguably the biggest market for graphically rich color e-books, not to mention the best way to view them (particularly on the new iPad's Retina display). Yes, Amazon has sold a lot of Kindle Fires and the Barnes & Noble's Nook Color and Nook Tablet have found their way into a lot of homes. But the iPad's still king, and Apple's calling the shots here.
Verdict: Most authors will use Amazon to sell their books, but the question is whether to go directly to them, and whether to opt into their exclusive program. More experienced writers seem to say ‘no’ to both of these, but if you’re starting out and not worried about smaller platforms, it might be the easiest option. You could also mix and match this with a platform like Gumroad (see below).
This free ebook converter has some optional ways to input ebook files. You can simply drag the ebooks you want to convert and drop them into the program. Or you can open a browser window to navigate to the source folder to input ebook files directly. It also intelligently detects and inputs all ebook files included in a folder and its sub-folder. That's how it makes things easier from the start.

Believe it or not, you might already have most of an ebook written already. If you are already making money with a blog, those blog posts could be turned into an ebook with some editing. Simply collect relevant blog posts into an order that makes sense, make any needed edits so that references that aren’t relevant are taken out, and add an introduction and conclusion, and you’re done. Any blog posts you use should cover the same or related topics and work well together.

All promotions must run a minimum of two days if they are to be approved by our editorial staff. There are several reasons for this minimum rule, the most important being that it can take more than 24 hours for our ads to propagate throughout our Social Networks and members of our email newsletter list often times open the emails the day after they are received. Two days of promotion make for better market saturation and a more likely chance for readers to discover your eBook.
