Decide on DRM. Digital Rights Management is a way of locking a book to a format. So, people buy this Kindle book and they can only read it on a Kindle device. I don't enable digital rights management on any platform. As far as I'm concerned, if readers want to read it on another device, they should be able to. So, I always click, “Do not enable digital rights management.” If you want more information on this, check out Cory Doctorow on freedom of expression, DRM, piracy and censorship.
As for the library blocking one of our sites, well, libraries block for any number of reasons but most likely it was because we featured a bargain erotica book for the Kindle somewhere and a library scanner didn't like a suggestive word. Our sites don't discriminate against book postings by category--our philosophy is, if Amazon sells it, we'll promote it. I think that's fair.
Unfortunately, the original Kickass Torrent site does not exist any longer but you can log onto its mirror site – katcr.co and get a similar experience. The site works the same way as TPB and is quite easy to use. Currently, it boasts of over 1,75,000 e-books that can be downloaded for free. In case you’re unable to find the book you’re looking for, you could post your request on their community forum. If their main site is not working, then you can try Kickass proxy sites.
You can publish on Amazon KDP as well as all the other platforms, but Amazon also offers KDP Select, which is a specific service that you can opt into for 90 day periods. It means that your books will be included in Kindle Unlimited, a subscription service for Amazon Prime members, where the books are more likely to be borrowed by readers. There are other advantages around free promotion days or countdown deals. You are paid based on pages read from a pot of money shared between authors at the end of each month.
One of the ways we have built our blog up to reaching 111 countries and 60,000 hits between our 2 sites is to leave the article hanging when we write it.. they read the article and get the gist but we leave it open on the end. The rest will be in the upcoming book. I don’t know if we have enough to publish yet in interest what do you think? I found it interesting that men don’t come into our tipsforlove.net site but they will come in and read the same articles on my projecttroops.org site. It’s macho and means it ok to read..but tipsforlove? I think they think it’s to female oriented to read. This is important to know if starting a blog.. will you get the readers in with your title? Thanks Tamra Lynn Smith and best of luck to you all.
Kobo and Apple iBooks both have the capability to schedule pricing promotions so you can set and forget and the price will revert after a discount period. With Amazon, you have to change it to the discount price and then go back in and change it back after the discount period is over, unless you're in KDP Select (exclusive) when you can schedule the promotion.
Advantage: Almost anyone can make an ebook. You can transform your manuscript from a word-processing format into an ebook by formatting it according to the platform on which you're publishing. Two of the most common platforms are Amazon's Kindle and Smashwords. Once it has been formatted, all you need is a few minutes to publish your book, and it could be up for purchase in as little as one or two days. Even better, it's free to publish on both Kindle and Smashwords, so anybody can publish an ebook for worldwide sale with a few simple clicks.
[…] I have followed Jane Friedman since she was the editor of Writer’s Digest. She then went to teaching in Cincinnati and also for Writer’s Digest University as well as lecturing out at writing seminars, starting her own blog in the process. A few years ago she was called up to the Virginia Quarterly Review though somehow she still writes for her website and teaches at Writer’s Digest webinars and conferences. Recently, she has compiled a Self-Publishing toolbox, of sorts, with everything a person could possibly hope for in one nifty package. This is basically a book itself, though she… Read more »

Planet eBook isn’t as big as the sites mentioned above, in terms of its book catalogue. It currently has only about 50,000 titles in its library. That said, it is one of the fastest growing e-book torrenting site that allows users to download at no cost whatsoever. The site is quite straightforward and runs pretty smoothly. If you’re a fan of classics, look no further than Planet ebook!
"If all you want is older books, or just general textbooks for information, the site's great. None of the stuff on it is being used by my school though, so that's a bummer. My dad loves it though; he gets to read about all sorts of stuff for free. If you just want to learn, it's great. If you're looking to save money on class costs though, not gonna help. Wish more professors would assign out of the site's listings."
The big benefit to working through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, even though they charge you a commission on your sales, is their reach. Around 89 million Americans are said to be active ebook readers. That’s your potential audience, all those people visiting this site and browsing for a new book. It could be your book they find when doing a search on a related keyword. In fact, 38 percent of daily sales of ebooks on Amazon go to self-published titles.
KDP Select (kdp.amazon.com/select) allows authors to opt in to a 90-day exclusive digital distribution deal with Amazon in exchange for a few perks. These include KDP Select making authors’ e-books available in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, where Amazon Prime members can check out their books for free with no due dates. Authors earn royalties on every book borrowed. The program also offers authors the choice between two promotional features: Kindle Countdown Deals or free book promotion. Authors are also eligible for 70% royalty for sales to customers in Japan, India, Brazil, and Mexico. The big catch to all of these benefits is that while enrolled in KDP Select, authors must agree to distribute their e-book exclusively through Amazon.

This is one of the best sites in ebook torrents category. Here not only you can download ebooks at free, but before downloading them you can all read the description of the ebook torrents. Now do a better eBook torrent search here and find out loved one easily. You can also search at this website by the name of the author, title and subject related to the ebook.
Also, if you have books in print from previous publishing deals, you can get them scanned from print back into Word so you can produce an ebook from that retrospectively. Many authors who had deals over 10 years ago will own their ebook rights, so it’s worth checking your contracts to see if you can publish digital versions, even if a traditional publisher owns your print rights. The Kindle Owners' Lending Library allows Amazon Prime members to "check out" your e-book for free (members can only check out one eligible title per month). Obviously, being able to offer your book for free to thousands -- or potentially million of customers -- increases the odds you'll "sell" more books. And what's nice is that even though people may not being paying to download your book, you're still getting paid -- and pretty well, according to Amazon.
Professor Garfield Garfield the cat hosts a website with a good collection of original and unique stories for younger readers (press the Read button on the home page). Most of the content is available for free reading online in a flash viewer without registration. There are also some books available for free download in PDF without registration.
Give away the first chapter of your book as an immediately accessible PDF on your web page or on Amazon. Include a re-tweet button in several strategic locations in the chapter. This allows people who love what they read, to easily share with friends on Twitter. When someone clicks on this re-tweet button, it shows a pre-crafted tweet that says: “I’m reading @……. new book: … Get the first chapter free here too: http://………” You get the idea?
