Upload your book file. This is the mobi for Kindle or the ePub for other stores. If it works, the upload will be shown as successful. You may get a notification of errors or spelling mistakes. Just fix them and re-upload another file if you need to. Most indies upload new files periodically as we update the back matter and lists of other books inside each book.
"I really love illegally downloading books, and am always looking for a new site to help me do so. Unfortunately, Freebookspot includes a lot of malware with the torrent results. When I loaded it in my Internet Explorer, my whole system crashed, and I had to take it into the computer shop, costing me way more than if I had just bought the books in the first place."
Paul, Thank you so much for this valuable content, you have just saved me a LOT of time and made the consideration of producing an eBook a lot more doable. I keep thinking I must start work on an eBook and have had thoughts about Amazon, but didn’t really believe it would be possible or that I would run into too many issues. Hearing this from someone who has been through the process is so valuable….now to decide what would be of value to my audience. Thinking time 🙂

Good stuff. I’ve converted several of my own books and a few for others authors and find that Jutoh works really nice. I’ve had success promoting my book using KDP Select and doing the promotion for several day in a row. I went to #2 in Web Marketing after the book came off promotion. But just like anything you have to keep trying and be open to trying new things.

Professor Garfield  Garfield the cat hosts a website with a good collection of original and unique stories for younger readers (press the Read button on the home page).  Most of the content is available for free reading online in a flash viewer without registration.  There are also some books available for free download in PDF without registration.
This website lacks an option for you to get registered as a user as it is not essential to register yourself on this website to gain access to the million contents they have on their website. Apart from downloading the e-books that you have been searching for, you can share your own collection of e-books and get feedback from the website’s fellow users.

To be clear, there are other ways to go about self-publishing your e-book. For example, I haven't talked about such outfits as Ingram Digital, Overdrive, or LibreDigital, because they're geared toward larger publishing or self-publishing operations rather than individuals. To help focus your decision-making process, I've tried to stick to what I consider the important players right now.
Christine Feehan takes romance full throttle in the second gripping novel in her #1 New York Times bestselling Torpedo Ink series. Breezy Simmons was born into a ruthless motorcycle club—and now that she’s out, she’s never going to be that girl again. But when her past catches up with her, Breezy must go to Sea Haven to seek out the man who almost destroyed her. The man who...
If you have a lot of images in your book or a lot of complicated tables, then you will have more problems in formatting. You will also have a bigger file size, and although ebooks are typically free in terms of delivery, Amazon does include a delivery cost in their pricing setup. That will be higher if you have a bigger file, and images can really expand the file size. If your delivery cost goes too high, you’re not going to make much royalty. So, it’s really important to consider the size of your file.
The good news is that you don’t have to choose between working directly with online retailers and using ebook distributors, since it’s rare for any distributor to demand exclusivity. For example, you could choose to work directly with Amazon KDP to sell your ebooks on Amazon, then use an ebook distributor such as Draft2Digital or Smashwords to reach other retailers. Or you could choose to distribute directly to Amazon, Apple, Kobo, and Nook (by using their do-it-yourself portals), then use Smashwords to capture the rest of the market (such as Scribd and libraries).
There are some key differences between this self-publishing (which, by the way, doesn’t have the negative connotations it used to) and traditional publishing process. You won’t be dealing with printed books, for one. That eliminates the expense and hassle of actually creating books, storing them, and delivering them — and that may not even sell. It’s going to be all digital. These are ebooks, which can be read on devices like Amazon’s Kindle, on another tablet or smartphone, or even on a computer.
Trafford offers e-book conversion and distribution as part of its standard print publishing package. E-books are automatically priced at $3.99 and royalties are 50% of net. Full distribution takes about 4 weeks from time of upload and e-books are available on Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader, Nook, and Scribd, as well as in the Trafford bookstore. Considering that the basic print package runs $549, along with the lower e-book royalty rate compared to other publishers, this would be an option for authors whose primary concern is a print edition.
Thank you, Jane, for such a prompt reply. And, well, if that’s true about Rogue (as it seems it might be), then, with the kind of work I’ve written, that puts me back to Square One. My reasoning was taken from an article by a Writer’s Digest article I saw from June of this year by Brian Klems entitled “How Can the Average Writer Make Money Self-publishing Ebooks.” The link is: http://www.writersdigest.com/online-editor/how-can-the-average-writer-make-money-self-publishing-e-books He said this re: Rogue Reader/MTM: “• Rogue Pricing. Our eBooks may be freely used in the United States because most are not protected by U.S. copyright law, usually because their copyrights have expired. They may not be free of copyright in other countries. Readers outside of the United States must check the copyright terms of their countries before downloading or redistributing our eBooks. We also have a number of copyrighted titles, for which the copyright holder has given permission for unlimited non-commercial worldwide use.
Great post. I think for eBook authors outside of the US, though, Amazon is just a pain. Firstly, they take months to pay. Secondly, they actually send a physical paper check all the way across the ocean (I live in Australia) instead of just paying by PayPal. It’s very 1970s, and irritating. So if you get a payment of $20, you have to pay a currency conversion fee of $10 at the bank here, so you only get half your money.

Maybe they shouldn’t charge ridiculous prices for books. Screwing over students, making one small revision so they can resell the new edition for full price. Adding in bullshit online codes so you’re forced to purchase the book new and removing the used book option. Screw the publishers, I pirate with pride. I’ve paid about $100 for thousands of dollars worth of textbooks. Don’t rip me off and I won’t rip you off. Sounds like you’re salty paying thousands for BS textbooks!

Marketing is all about creating awareness for your e-book: I don't have any secret marketing tips to offer, but what I can say is that you can't sell a book if no one knows it exists. Most of book marketing is simply about creating awareness and you need to do that however you can, whether it's through social media or blogging or passing out fliers on a street corner. (I made a business card for my book, which I pass out if someone seems interested in hearing more about it.)
